  • Ein Spieler bekommt folgende E-Mail von nazo369(at)yahoo.co.jp:
    subject line: QU13E - Splinternails
    October 31 is Splinternails birthday, you know. That's how I found you, searching for him (I read an article on you on the net. Wow, I'm a fan of your work!). Anyway, it's kind of funny or strange or both, because I'm pretty confident (honored even) that I'm one of the handful of people who have ever met him more than once - a la Random Martin. Turns out a lot of people are still looking for him, so if you find him first let me know? I'll do the same.

  • Auf der Seite http://www.qu13e.com/ erfolgt ein Update. Man sieht ein leeres Bild mit dem Titel "me.jpg". Ferner steht im Quelltext unter anderem:

  • Der Titel der Seite http://www.qu13e.com/ ist "quIXe" und bei jedem Refresh entsteht ein anderes Bild aus 9 Quadraten:

Jedes der 9 Quadrate stammt aus einem anderen Ordner in welchem jeweils 13 verschiedene Bildstücke (A00, B00, C00, ... M00) liegen von denen per Zufallsgenerator eins angezeigt wird (siehe ungelöste Rätsel).

  • Wörter in der Dateiinfo von Bildern führen zu den 9 Musen und damit auch zu dieser E-Mail-Adresse "melpomene(at)qu13e.com". Schreibt man an diese Adresse erhält man folgende Antwort:

    Eine Nachfrage bei Melpomene wer "he" ist, ergibt folgende Antwort:
    Hi.
    He is who you're looking for, surely?
    Until you can tell me how you found me, I can't tell you how to find out.

    Not stupid! Maybe confused? (and surely he meant it that way)

    He told me to wait for a sign that someone had understood his message. If they did, they'd understand the secret to my key.
    "The answer lies wherever you came from to get here."
    That's what he said.

  • Auf der Frage eines Spielers nach einem bestimmten Rätsel schreib sie:
    I've seen this before, but what it means I don't know.
    Random was always speaking in numbers, he was obsessed with them.


  • Nachdem Melpomene mitgeteilt wurde, dass "between the echoes" das Wort "IRIGUCHI" gefunden wurde, schreibt sie zurück:
    • Good, you found the "iriguchi", it's part of what I need. Almost there!
    • Yes, it's part of what I need. Almost there!
      And I have no sisters, who did you ask?
